We're partnering with a school district in Plymouth County, Massachusetts to hire a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a short-term assignment from September 2026 through December 2026.
This onsite opportunity is ideal for a collaborative special educator who is passionate about supporting upper elementary students in both inclusive and specialized instructional settings. In this role, you will provide push-in and pull-out special education services, primarily supporting 4th and 5th grade students, while working closely with general education teachers and support staff to help students achieve their academic and IEP goals.
Position Details:
- Location: Onsite in Plymouth County, MA
- Schedule: Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:20 AM - 2:30 PM
- Assignment Dates: September 2026 - December 2026
- Grade Levels: Primarily 4th and 5th Grade
- Service Model: Push-In and Pull-Out Special Education Services
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students receiving special education services in both push-in and pull-out settings.
- Implement and monitor IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student access to grade-level curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and utilize data to inform instructional decisions and interventions.
- Provide academic support in literacy, mathematics, and other content areas as needed.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and progress reviews.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes student growth, independence, and confidence.
- Partner with families, educators, and related service providers to support student success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Moderate Disabilities Teacher License (PreK-8 or 5-12), or eligibility for licensure
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, accommodations, modifications, and Massachusetts special education regulations
- Experience providing special education services in elementary or upper elementary settings preferred
- Experience delivering push-in and pull-out services preferred
- Strong collaboration, communication, classroom management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams
