We're currently seeking a full-time, in-person School Social Worker to support a school in Wayne County, Michigan for the 2026/2027 school year.
Position Details:
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: 05/27/2027
- Location: Wayne County, Michigan
- On-Site, 40 hours per week
- School Year: 2026/2027
Qualifications:
- Michigan School Social Worker credential and educator certification (as required for the role).
- Experience supporting students with social-emotional, behavioral, and/or family-related needs in a school setting.
- Ability to provide individual and small-group counseling and apply age-appropriate support strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills to partner with school staff and families to support student success.
- Professional judgment, reliability, and the ability to manage workload expectations in a school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and targeted social-emotional support to students to promote academic and personal success.
- Respond to student crises and coordinate appropriate supports with the school-based team.
- Collaborate with families to understand student needs and connect them with relevant community and school resources.
- Advocate for students by helping address barriers to learning and improving access to supports and services.
- Contribute to prevention-focused efforts that promote student wellness and a positive school climate.
