Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Lawrence County, Indiana to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This opportunity is supporting a self-contained / intense intervention classroom serving K-2 students, with a small caseload and a structured school-day schedule.
Job Summary
In this role, you'll provide specialized instruction and case management for students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained setting, collaborating with campus teams and families to deliver strong outcomes academically, behaviorally, and socially.

Position Details:

• Worksite: On-site
• Schedule: 7:40 AM - 3:20 PM
• Weekly hours: 37.5 hours/week
• Pay/Bill range: $49-$52/ hour

Responsibilities (What You'll Do):

• Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned to IEP goals and grade-level standards (as appropriate).
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs, progress monitoring, and required documentation.
• Provide a structured, supportive classroom environment using evidence-based intervention strategies.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators to support student success.
• Communicate consistently with families/guardians regarding progress, supports, and plans.
• Participate in meetings (IEP conferences, team meetings) and help ensure timelines and compliance are met.

Qualifications (What You'll Need):

• Indiana Special Education License (required).
• Intense Intervention endorsement (required).
• Experience working with elementary-aged learners (K-2 strongly preferred).
• Confidence supporting a self-contained classroom model and differentiated instruction.
• Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
