Onward Education is partnering with a school district in Boulder County, Colorado to hire a Paraprofessional / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting elementary students with autism. The Paraprofessional/RBT will report to the Principal and Special Education Director and will provide instructional, behavioral, and student support aligned to classroom goals and student plans.
Position Details:
- Role: Paraprofessional / RBT (Paraeducator or certified RBT; note: no BCBA supervision available)
- Location: On-site
- Hours: 35 hours/week
- Schedule: Approximately 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- School Year: (2026/2027 school year)
- Work Calendar: Works during student attendance days plus 2-3 training days during the year
- Pay Range: $27-$30/hour
Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher and special education team with daily instruction and classroom routines.
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to help students access the curriculum and build functional/academic skills.
- Implement behavioral supports and strategies consistently (including reinforcement and de-escalation techniques as directed).
- Assist with data collection and documentation on student progress, behavior, and interventions.
- Support student transitions throughout the day (arrival, classes, specials, recess/lunch, dismissal) to ensure safety and success.
- Collaborate with the school team while maintaining professionalism, flexibility, and a student-first mindset.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of special education public school classroom experience.
- Experience supporting students with autism and/or intensive learning needs strongly preferred.
- If applying as an RBT: current certification required (please note no BCBA supervision is available in this setting).
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
- Flexible, team-oriented approach with strong communication and follow-through.
