Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: Cook County, Illinois
Setting: School-Based | K-5
Schedule: Part-Time
Start Date: ASAP through Winter Break, with potential to extend
Onward Education is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students in a K-5 school-based setting. The SLP will provide assessment, therapy, consultation, and support to students with speech, language, and communication needs while collaborating with teachers, families, and other school professionals.
Responsibilities:

Conduct speech and language screenings, evaluations, and assessments.

Provide direct speech and language therapy to students based on individual needs and IEP goals.

Develop, implement, and monitor speech and language goals within students' IEPs.

Address areas including articulation, fluency, receptive and expressive language, social communication, and other communication needs.

Support students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) when applicable.

Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Provide classroom strategies and recommendations to support students' communication skills.

Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, evaluations, and service records.

Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and progress-monitoring activities.

Ensure services are provided in accordance with IDEA and applicable Illinois requirements.

Advocate for students and promote an inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
-
Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license required.

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) required.

Previous school-based experience preferred.

Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.

Bilingual Spanish-speaking SLP preferred, but not required.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
