Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Lawrence County, Indiana<\/strong> to hire a Special Education Teacher<\/strong> for the 2026\/2027 school year<\/strong>. This opportunity is supporting a self-contained \/ intense intervention classroom serving K-2 students<\/strong>, with a small caseload and a structured school-day schedule.
Job Summary<\/strong>
In this role, you’ll provide specialized instruction and case management for students with mild to moderate needs in a self-contained setting, collaborating with campus teams and families to deliver strong outcomes academically, behaviorally, and socially.<\/p>\n

  • Worksite:<\/span><\/strong> On-site <\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Schedule:<\/span><\/strong> 7:40 AM – 3:20 PM<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Weekly hours:<\/span><\/strong> 37.5 hours\/week<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Pay\/Bill range:<\/span><\/strong> $49-$52\/ hour<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n

    Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned to IEP goals and grade-level standards (as appropriate).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Develop, implement, and maintain compliant IEPs<\/strong>, progress monitoring, and required documentation.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Provide a structured, supportive classroom environment using evidence-based intervention strategies.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and administrators to support student success.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Communicate consistently with families\/guardians regarding progress, supports, and plans.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Participate in meetings (IEP conferences, team meetings) and help ensure timelines and compliance are met.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n

      Qualifications (What You’ll Need):<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      • Indiana Special Education License<\/span><\/strong> (required).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Intense Intervention endorsement<\/span><\/strong> (required).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Experience working with elementary-aged learners (K-2 strongly preferred).<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Confidence supporting a self-contained classroom model and differentiated instruction.<\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.<\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n
