Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Lawrence County, Indiana<\/strong> to hire a Special Education Teacher – Self-Contained (Intense Intervention), Middle School<\/strong> for the 2026\/2027<\/strong> school year. This role supports a self-contained Intense Intervention classroom<\/strong> serving students in grades 6-8<\/strong>, with a small caseload and a strong focus on individualized instruction and classroom-based supports.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

  • Location:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> On-site <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Hours:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> 37.5 hours\/week <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Schedule:<\/span><\/span><\/strong> 7:40 AM – 3:20 PM<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
  • Pay: <\/span><\/span><\/strong>$49.50 – $52.50\/ hour<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n

    Job Summary<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>
    In this role, you’ll lead a self-contained Intense Intervention classroom<\/strong> by delivering specialized instruction, implementing IEPs with fidelity, managing classroom routines and behavior supports, and collaborating closely with district\/school teams to ensure students receive the services, accommodations, and modifications they need to grow academically, behaviorally, and socially.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/p>\n

    Responsibilities:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Provide direct, specialized instruction aligned to IEP goals for students in a self-contained Intense Intervention setting.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Develop, implement, and progress-monitor IEPs; collect and maintain compliant documentation and data.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Create and maintain a structured classroom environment that supports learning, routines, and positive behavior.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum materials to meet a wide range of learner needs.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
    • Participate in meetings (IEP conferences, team meetings) and communicate student progress clearly and consistently.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n

      Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

      • Indiana Special Education License<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (required)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Intense Intervention endorsement<\/span><\/span><\/strong> (required)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Experience supporting middle school learners (grades 6-8) in higher-support or self-contained settings strongly preferred<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Strong classroom management, data collection, and IEP implementation skills<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\n
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate with families professionally<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span> <\/ul>\n
