Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) – School-Based
Location: Litchfield County, CT<\/strong><\/p>\n

Onward Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our school-based team in Litchfield County, Connecticut.<\/strong> The BCBA will play a critical role in supporting students with behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs by designing and implementing evidence-based behavior intervention programs. This position focuses on improving student outcomes through the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) while collaborating closely with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.<\/p>\n

The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students succeed academically, socially, and behaviorally while creating positive and inclusive learning environments.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities:<\/h2>\n

Behavioral Assessment & Evaluation<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to identify the underlying causes and functions of challenging behaviors.\n
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to identify trends, triggers, and environmental factors impacting student success.\n
  • Develop recommendations and actionable plans based on assessment findings. <\/ul>\n

    Behavior Intervention Planning<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • Develop and implement individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.\n
    • Design evidence-based strategies to increase appropriate behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.\n
    • Teach and reinforce replacement behaviors that promote student independence and success. <\/ul>\n

      Consultation, Training & Staff Support<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school personnel.\n
      • Model effective behavioral intervention techniques and classroom management strategies.\n
      • Collaborate with school staff to ensure consistent implementation of intervention plans across settings. <\/ul>\n

        Data Collection & Progress Monitoring<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Develop systems for collecting and monitoring behavioral data.\n
        • Analyze student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.\n
        • Make data-driven recommendations and adjust strategies as needed to maximize student outcomes. <\/ul>\n

          Collaboration & Family Engagement<\/h3>\n
            \n
          • Partner with teachers, school psychologists, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, administrators, and other service providers.\n
          • Participate in IEP meetings and provide behavioral expertise to support student goals.\n
          • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers to promote consistency between school and home environments. <\/ul>\n

            Classroom & School-Wide Support<\/h3>\n
              \n
            • Recommend classroom and environmental modifications to encourage positive behavior and reduce behavioral triggers.\n
            • Support the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and other school-wide behavioral initiatives.\n
            • Help create safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments for all students. <\/ul>\n

              Qualifications:<\/h2>\n
                \n
              • Active Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.\n
              • Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, Education, or a related field.\n
              • Experience conducting FBAs and developing and implementing BIPs.\n
              • Strong understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and evidence-based practices.\n
              • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\n
              • Previous school-based experience preferred. <\/ul>\n
