We're currently seeking full-time, in-person Special Education Teachers to support a school in Trumbull, Connecticut for the 2026-2027 school year.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success through specialized instruction, development of individualized education plans, and collaboration with school teams and families. You'll work on-site supporting students with disabilities such as autism, behavior challenges, or life skills needs in a collaborative school setting.
Position Details:
- Role: Special Education Teacher
- Location: Fairfield County
- Pay: $52-$58/hr.
- Duration: 2026-2027 school year
- Status: Accepting Candidates
Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching license or certification in Connecticut or applicable state endorsements
- Experience working with students with autism, behavioral challenges, or sensory needs preferred
- Strong understanding of behavioral interventions, sensory supports, and adaptive technologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to students' needs
- Utilize specialized strategies and interventions, including ABA or social-emotional learning techniques
- Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and families to optimize educational outcomes
- Incorporate sensory supports and adaptive technologies into daily instruction
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and report on development regularly
