Onward Education is partnering with a district in Brown County, Wisconsin to hire Special Education Teachers for the 2026/2027 school year. This is an on-site opportunity with 4 openings across multiple programs (Early Childhood, Autism Focus, Intellectual Disabilities, and Cross Categorical).

Job Summary
In this role, you'll provide specialized instruction and case management support to students with diverse learning needs. You'll collaborate closely with general education staff, related service providers, administrators, and families to ensure students receive appropriate services aligned to IEP goals and district expectations.

Position Details:

• Role: Special Education Teacher (4 openings)
• Location: On-site (specific campus varies by opening)
• Schedule: 37.5 hours/week
• School Year: 2026/2027
• Pay: $51.50-$54.50/hour
• Openings (4):
  1. Early Childhood Collaborative Special Ed Teacher
     • Ages/Caseload: Ages 3-5 (up to 8 students per AM/PM session)
     • License: WI ECSE License
  2. Autism Focus Teacher
     • Ages/Caseload: Ages 5-12 (up to 8 students)
     • License: WI DPI Sped EC-MC or MC-EA
  3. ID Teacher (temporary assignment)
     • Ages/Caseload: Ages 5-12 (up to 8 students)
     • Experience: behaviors/de-escalation; NVCI preferred; familiarity with workshop model; experience with reading/writing units of study preferred
     • License: WI DPI Sped EC-MC or MC-EA
  4. Cross Categorical Teacher -
     • Ages/Caseload: Ages 12-14 (15-18 students)
     • License: WI Cross Categorical SPED License

Responsibilities:

• Provide specially designed instruction aligned to student IEPs and present levels of performance.
• Develop, implement, and update IEP goals, accommodations, modifications, and progress monitoring plans.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure services are delivered with fidelity.
• Manage classroom and behavioral supports using proactive strategies and de-escalation techniques as needed.
• Communicate consistently with families/guardians regarding progress, strategies, and student needs.
• Maintain compliant documentation, service logs, progress reports, and any required district reporting.

Qualifications:

• Active Wisconsin DPI Special Education license aligned to the assigned opening (ECSE, EC-MC, MC-EA, or Cross Categorical).
• Experience supporting students with a range of needs (autism, ID, cross-categorical, early childhood, etc.).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (team-based school environment).
• Comfort with data collection/progress monitoring and IEP documentation.
• For certain openings: behavior support/de-escalation experience; NVCI preferred.
