About the Position

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a school team in Phoenix, Arizona. The SLP will support students in developing the communication, language, speech, and social skills they need to succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment

  • Evaluate students to identify speech, language, communication, and related needs.

  • Conduct screenings and comprehensive assessments using standardized and informal assessment tools.

  • Assess areas including articulation, fluency, voice, receptive and expressive language, and social communication.

  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and eligibility determinations.

Intervention & Therapy

  • Develop and implement individualized speech and language goals based on student needs.

  • Provide direct and/or consultative services to students with communication disorders.

  • Provide therapy for speech sound disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, voice concerns, and social communication challenges.

  • Support students who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and other communication supports.

  • Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, parents, and other related-service providers.

  • Provide classroom strategies and recommendations to support students' communication skills.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of appropriate goals and accommodations.

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to monitor student progress and educational needs.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and timely student records, evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports.

  • Document student progress and service delivery in accordance with school and district requirements.

  • Ensure services and documentation comply with applicable federal and state requirements, including IDEA.

  • Participate in IEP and other required meetings.

Advocacy & Student Support

  • Advocate for students' communication needs within the school environment.

  • Promote inclusive practices that allow students with communication challenges to fully participate in classroom activities.

  • Educate families and school staff regarding speech, language, and communication development.

  • Help identify communication concerns early and recommend appropriate supports.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.

  • Current Arizona SLP licensure/certification or eligibility to obtain the appropriate Arizona credential.

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred/required based on position requirements.

  • Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting preferred.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
