We're partnering with a local school team to hire two ASL Paraprofessionals for the 2026-2027 school year in Dakota County, Minnesota. In this role, you'll support students who use ASL by helping them access instruction, participate in classroom activities, and navigate the school day with confidence--working closely with the classroom teacher and special education staff.

As an ASL Paraprofessional, you'll provide in-class and school-day support to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and/or use ASL for communication. You'll reinforce instruction, help with routines and transitions, and support communication in a way that keeps students included and engaged.

Position Details:

• Schedule: On-site during standard school hours (Mon-Fri)
• Hours: Approximately 33.75 hours/week
• Openings: 2
• Setting: School-based (K-12 environment may vary by assignment)

Responsibilities:

• Support student communication and access to instruction using ASL (and other communication supports as appropriate to the classroom/team plan).
• Reinforce teacher-led lessons and help students complete classroom activities and assignments.
• Provide 1:1 or small-group support as assigned, including during transitions and non-classroom times (arrival/dismissal, lunch, recess, specials).
• Assist with implementing classroom routines, accommodations, and student-specific support plans (as directed by the supervising teacher/service team).
• Observe and document student progress and day-to-day needs; share updates with the supervising teacher and team.
• Help maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that promotes independence and student participation.

Qualifications:

• Strong ASL skills (educational interpreting and/or school-based ASL support experience strongly preferred).
• Experience working with students in a school, youth, or special education setting (paraeducator/EA/TA experience is a plus).
• Ability to follow plans with consistency, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable, calm presence--able to support student needs throughout a busy school day.
